Foreign Teacher Workshop: Exploring Sustainable Utilization of Natural Resources and Conservation of Terrestrial Ecology

The International Education Office of The Affiliated High School of Tunghai University held a foreign teacher workshop on April 19th, 2024, aiming to enhance the quality of teaching and construct cross-cultural professional competence. This workshop will focus on the sustainable utilization of natural resources and conservation of terrestrial ecology, providing rich practical training courses to cultivate teachers' teaching diversity and professional knowledge.

The activities include:

**Wildlife Conservation Techniques Practice** 

Time: 13:00-13:25 

This course will simulate scenarios of field research and rescue of large mammals, allowing teachers to experience the work of ecologists through role-playing and learn related conservation techniques to guide students in experiencing terrestrial ecology conservation.

**Wind and Hydraulic Power Generation and Water Purification Practice** 

Time: 13:25-13:50 

Through practical activities of hydropower generation and sewage treatment, teachers will understand the importance of water resource management and sustainable utilization, and integrate this knowledge into teaching to cultivate students' awareness of environmental protection.

**Sustainable Use of Bee Products** 

Time: 13:50-14:15 

By making beeswax nests and candles, teachers will gain a deeper understanding of the value and sustainable utilization of bee products and guide students to think about sustainable consumption patterns of natural resources.

**Millet Mochi DIY** 

Time: 14:15-14:40 

Through making traditional millet mochi, teachers and students will experience indigenous dietary culture and understand the importance of millet and traditional farming.

**Malaysian Specialty Snack DIY** 

Time: 14:40-15:00 

Teachers will make traditional Malaysian sweet soup ice desserts and learn how to guide students to participate in characteristic activities to promote cross-cultural exchange.

This workshop will enrich the teaching capabilities of foreign teachers, providing ESL Program students with more diverse and interesting learning content.

外師研習活動：探索永續自然資源利用與保育陸域生態

東大附中國際教育處於2024年4月19日舉辦外師研習活動，以促進教師教學品質的提升及跨文化專業知能的建構為目標。本次研習將聚焦於永續自然資源利用與陸域生態保育，提供豐富的實作訓練課程，以培養教師的教學多元性與專業知識。

活動內容包括：

**野生動物保育技術實作** 

時間：13:00-13:25 

本課程將模擬野外研究與救治大型哺乳類動物的情境，讓教師透過角色扮演體驗生態學家的工作，並學習相關保育技術，以引導學生實際體驗陸域生態保育。

**風、水力發電及水質淨化實作** 

時間：13:25-13:50 

透過水力發電與汙水處理的實作，教師將了解水資源管理與永續利用的重要性，並將此知識融入教學中，培養學生對於環境保護的認識。

**蜜蜂產品永續利用** 

時間：13:50-14:15 

通過製作蜂蠟巢礎及蠟燭，教師將深入了解蜜蜂產品的價值與永續利用，並引導學生思考自然資源的永續性消費模式。

**小米麻糬DIY** 

時間：14:15-14:40 

透過製作傳統小米麻糬，教師與學生將體驗原住民飲食文化，並了解小米的重要性與耕種傳統。

**馬來西亞特色點心DIY** 

時間：14:40-15:00  

教師將動手製作馬來西亞傳統甜湯冰品，並學習如何引導學生參與特色活動，促進跨文化交流。

此次研習活動將豐富外國教師的教學實力，並為東大附中ESL Program學生提供更多元且豐富有趣的學習內容。
