ABOUT US
OUR HISTORY
Tunghai was founded in August of 1958 by Dr. Wu Deyao, President of Donghai University, Professor Xu Fuguan, Liang Rongruo, Zhang Foquan, with the aim of cultivating students with sound personality in an environment that replaces walls with love. Originally called “Wai En Junior High School,” the campus received it’s current name on August 1, 2017. At present, there are 18 classes in the high school, 21 classes in the junior high, 30 classes in the primary school, and 6 classes in the kindergarten. The total number of students is about 2,900. Thanks to the integration of the middle school, Tunghai University has become the only institution in the country with an educational program that spans kindergarten, elementary school, middle school, high school, and even includes universities and research institutes.

Our primary mission is to empower the individuals who enter our school with the tools needed to excel in an ever changing world. We do so with an extensive curriculum that challenges them on all levels and encourages critical thinking, problem solving, team work, self-expression, and camaraderie.
OUR GOAL
At Tunghai, we're in the business of happy and fulfilled children; nothing more, nothing less. Our goal is to help every student that enters our campus tap into their unlimited potential and satisfy the thirst for knowledge that we are all born with. We aim to satiate their cravings for creativity, answer every question asked, while encouraging wonder, love of learning, and empathy for others.
